A Clockwork Orange - Stanley Kubrick (1971)

Of the 102 movies on the list...this was the one I was not looking forward to watching. As much as 'Alien' wasn't one I was looking forward to...this one I had actually wanted to avoid for as long as possible. But...I decided to bite the bullet.

The thing about this movie is, it's become a huge influence on culture. There are references to it all over the place - on TV shows and in music videos...and the list goes on. (Here is the Wikipedia entry on that exact subject.) So I knew and understood why it was on the list. I just didn't want to watch it.

On the one hand, I can't argue with the impact that this movie has had on culture. And that's what makes it a 'good' movie - it's stood the test of time. I know full well that if this movie had been made now - it would be way more graphic and violent. Although, it is still a pretty...uncomfortable movie to watch.

Am I glad I watched it, yes. It's been checked off the list. Will I watch it again...um...no thanks.

One word to describe 'A Clockwork Orange': Milky.
